Nassau Hall – Once Our
Nation’s Capitol Building
In 1792, our nation’s capitol moved
to its current home in Washington, DC.
Before this time, it had been located in
several places, including Nassau Hall.
The oldest building on the Princeton
University campus in New Jersey, Nassau
Hall served as the U.S. Capitol for
four months when the Congress of the
Confederation met there in 1783. Scott
#1083 shows this historic landmark.
